Harry Potter Quiet Book: The Baby I Made While Making a Baby

Backstory: In July JT, me & most of his family all went to San Diego ComicCon. In prepping for the long drive with her 1 1/2 year old, my sister-in-law asked to look through the bag of distractions I usually take to church with me for my three kiddos.
Long story short, I decided she needed something to add to her own bag of distractions for her little man. And thus the scheme for this 50+ hour project was born!
What can I say, strange desires can sometimes take hold when I'm pregnant. Ha!

And now it's done at last!
It took me a solid 4 months from brainstorming to finish,
(with week-long breaks here and there for my own sanity)

but I think it turned out FABULOUS!

Many of my inspirations came from good ol' Pinterest. I'll do my best to document who I got what from as I go along.

Page #1: Hogwarts Crest Puzzle
My inspiration came from this image here; unfortunately I don't know whose it is.

I also used this picture to improve on the details a bit. :P

Page #2: Harry Under the Stairs
The inspiration was a tiny picture with no source, so I just built my own ideas off of it including the magnetic pictures, the changeable window and the spider on a string of elastic. The finger-puppet turned out a bit uglier than I wanted, but oh well.

Page 3: Hedwig & Letter
I'm VERY pleased with how this page came out. I saw several pictures of an owl with a letter on Pinterest, but none that I was satisfied with. So I drafted and stitched my own. :)

Page 4: Bertie Bott's Beans
This page was my own idea and design except for the box, which is from the Harry Potter movies.

Page 5: Gryffindor Uniform
I got this page straight from Today I Felt Crafty. Very simple. Made it in one day. :)

Page 6: Herbology Class, Planting Mandrakes
This page is another of my own design. It took me quite a while to sketch out a non-creepy version of a mandrake, but I think they turned out cute! I also included Trevor so there would be no question that the student was Neville.

I also have to tell you, when I was making this page Rori was looking at the mandrakes from right to left:
"This one is happy.....and this one is happy....and.... Why is this one holding its breath?" Haha! I thought it was adorable!

Page 7: Potions Class
This one was also my own design. All the bottles are magnetic. The quill is on an elastic string and most everything can fit into the cauldron.

Page 8: Black Family Tree Tapestry
This is another idea I gleaned from Today I Felt Crafty, but I built on it a bit. My pictures are so big you can hardly tell it's a tree behind them, but overall it turned out well. I found the Black Family names on Harry Potter Wiki.

Page 9: Quidditch Pitch Lacing Page
This page is straight from the template provided on Today I Felt Crafty. Another super easy page that came together in just a day.

Page 10: Finding Socks for Dobby
Another idea from Today I Felt Crafty (see her pic here), but she really just gave me a jumping-off point. I was super picky about my Dobby not looking weird or creepy, and I think I was successful!

The entire design is mine. I used magnets inside the socks to stick to their mates on the floor, and velcro on the backs of them to stick to places around the room. The owl is also magnetic so he can move around the room. I'm very pleased with how the whole page turned out. :D

And if you happen to be interested in watching the video of the quiet book in action, I've included it here!
(Caution: I didn't put any music or anything to it, so just do yourself a favor and mute it, cuz the sound of the buckle scraping the table really takes away from the ambiance. :P)

NOW I can finally relax and have my baby! Haha!
